MYS represented at MIC tournament in Barcelona Spain
MYS was represented this past week at one of the best youth soccer tournaments in Barcelona Spain. Our director of coaching was invited to be head coach for 2004 boys team and one of our own u12 Magic players Parker Vasic was one of the 14 selected from kids that come Maryland, NY, New Jersey, Virginia and North Carolina teams. Our team did extremely well beating select team from Japan, Spanish local teams Vic and Athletic and tied select team from Indonesia to win the group stage. At final 16 we beat Barcelona Elite Denver team 5-1 and lost in top 8 against English premier team Liverpool 5-3. It was great experience to see that American soccer players are catching up with skills and technical ability with rest of the world.
"Your children's youth sports experience will end, and it may happen suddenly. Hopefully you will not look back and think, "I wish I had enjoyed it more instead of obsessing over performance, or playing time, or the team's record." Enjoy the experience; it will end too soon."
